Great 86 4runner 4 sale
No longer for sale...
I purchased the 1986 4runner, summer of 2006, from a guy here in Pueblo, CO, a diehard Toyota fan and original owner. He was sad to see it go, and I was eager to buy it. He had never removed the fiberglass cap nor missed an oil change. He made sure I had all the documentation he could find. My buddy Aaron, a Toyota 4runner fan, came along, and I could see his excitement when he saw it, his increased bounce in steps as he peered into the engine compartment, listened to the idle, asked questions, trying to hide his smile and gave me the thumbs up then went from mechanical (which was obviously SOUND) to body, also in decent shape.
I put a lot of time into researching the truck, understanding its idiosyncrasies. My buddy had the model year 1985 and the idea of having similar rigs convinced me to purchase.
We went wheelin above COS on Saran Wrap and Eagle Rock, and had a BLAST. Its only real trail time (quite certain even entire life).
I purchased a front axle from a '85 4runner for a SAS and dismantled it from the rolling frame I got it on. I cleaned it up from its years of road grime. It still needs to be rebuilt, although, it is not in bad shape. I also got Marlin to send the rock sliders they sell. They are STILL packaged up and ready to ship again.
I also had new 2.5" exhaust from the manifold through to the tailpipe using a raptor muffler. Sounds and performs much better than the 1" stock.
I feel sad about selling but there are other things I need to take care of (bills). I understand that if I get into this, it can become a money pit. My wife knows this too, and she would rather I did not pursue the 4x4 hobby. I am asking $2800.

RE: Great 86 4runner 4 sale
160k. I just installed a 2" body lift, and have a rear Aussie locker for it, and converted the turning lamps into the parking lamp with LED. Really nice change on that, as I was able to remove the valance and the bumper is gone too.
