first time 4-runner
Just thought I'd check in and intro myself. I've wanted a runner for years and finally convinced the wife that I needed a 4th, yes, 4th vehicle, you know, to pull the Montauk with. She bit, so I bought. A '95 2-wheel drive (didn't really think I'd need 4 wheel around here) with 144K miles. Great shape, no rust, slight fabric rip on the outside drive seat. Otherwise, runs great, so far. I'm loving the ride. Any words of wisdom for an new owner of an old runner?
I'm looking forward to getting familiar with this site.

RE: first time 4-runner
I also have a 95 4runner 4x4 which I love. Great truck and I mean truck because they ride like one. They got more room then 96 and up in the back for cargo I built my house with it last year. But w/144k miles it will go for many years w/o too many problems. Check with local dealer to make sure factory recalls are done already, other than that just change the oil and keep up the maintances. The mpg sucks a little but w/2WD it's slightly better but not much. The truck is under powered(hp) but no need to race everywhere, too bad you didn't get the 4x4 it's better if you plan on towing like a boat out the water, other than that there is no other truck I rather be driving to middle of nowhere she will always take care of you if you take care of her remember that.....peace......
