Turn Signals/Hazzards
Wondering if anyone has had this problem before, and could use some help.
Have an 87 4runner (stock). Every time I signal left or right, the hazzards come on, and if I try to turn on the hazzards, they don't work. I think it's the signal switch/hazzard assembly, but before I replace it (once I can find one) I was hoping for some suggestions.
Thanks for any help in advance.

RE: Turn Signals/Hazzards
Hummmof what I know your Hazards and Turn Signal are almost 100% seperate. Sounds to me like a relay.
I mean if you have your hazards on in a car you cant use the signals and vise versa since it cancels out. Also Hazards work usually with the key off in alot of vehicles.
Start with the cheapest thing which would be CHECK to see if the relays are in tack or if they are stuck. Then move on from there, no reason to spend money if you dont need to.
Good luck and let us know what you find out.

RE: Turn Signals/Hazzards
Thanks for the response.
I replaced the flasher thinking it might be faulty, but problem persists.
What I did find out is that my hazzards and horn are on the same fuse - I am a fairly tollerable person so I don't use my horn very often, which in fact didn't work. Replaced the fuse now the hazzards and horn work properly.
Update on problem: Turn right or left signal on, both signals turn on - ie. turn left signal on, both left and right sigan turn on and vise versa, turn right signal on and both come on.
As far as I can tell the problem is isolated to the turn signal system. I may have to take out my trusty old test light and see what's exactly happening. The problem is, the high today was -12oC (-22 w/ windchill) and I have no garage (Brrrrrrr....)
Again thanks for all the help. More suggestions or tips would greatly be appreciated.
