Questions about cv boots
So I was changing my brakes a few days ago and noticed that one of my outter cv boots was torn and the other starting to crack. I still need to crawl under and check the inner boots. So when replacing I was wondering what kind of boots to use. Are there any boots that are better in a dry place like Tucson? Does matter if I go with a quick boot or a regular boot? Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
joe

RE: Questions about cv boots
Why replace a split boot with a split boot? Quick boots are not recommended and many shops have stopped carrying them because they break apart. Do it properly, and replace the shaft if it is worn. You don't want a broken CV joint AFTER you have just worked on them.
Any good brand of boot will be tough enough. The reason they tear and crack is because of age in most cases as the rubber loses its pliability.
