Default Hey there

New to the boards for T4R..just bought my wife an 07 4X4..we have never had a T4R before...its a sweet ride. Question ...and this may be normal...when we come to a hard stop...and than release the brake pedal sometimes we get a delayed caliper release in the read brakes..is this normal ?? is it part of the ABS system...we took it into the dealer we bought it from, they gave us a 99 day bumper to bumper...and had it checked out..they said the braking system was is proper working order. What generation is our 07 ?? Thanks for the forum and any help ...

Your 07 4runner is a 4th gen. That bump you feel when releasing the brakes is common on 3rd gens. I'm not familiar with 4th gens so I don't know how common it is with them. It's not the brakes. It's the slip yoke on the drive shaft as it builds up vacuum and then releases with grease, or lack of grease. The usual fix on 3rd gens is to grease the drive shaft so it's full. This fix normally lasts for few months and then it comes back. It's normal for 3rd gens, just a little annoying. Almost feels like you're being hit in the back end when you release the brakes. Like I said though, not too familiar with the 4th gens so it might be this or something else.

Thanks Kball for the info...I will see about greasing it up..It sure feels like the calipers releasing, but the drive shaft it right there also. Make sense to me...I wonder why the service department would not of mentioned that..I told them what it was doing.
