buying a 4runner with a supercharger

RE: buying a 4runner with a supercharger
you can assume that there is really only one reason to put a supercharger on something and that is obviously for more power. someone that needs more power from their vehicle for whatever reason, is probably doing things hard enough on that vehicle that they would need more power. basically, the previous owner either put the SC on there for more towing power, or to go faster. either way, they have been putting more wear on the truck.
whether that is an issue for you or not...is up to you. keep in mind, a supercharger (while fun) will wear an engine down harder and faster than without.

Some of the 4runners came from the factory with the TRD supercharger. Mine (a 98) came with that and TRD headers as well.
I prefer it as it has alot more power. Its a mild supercharger and isn't going to wear the engine much. However, there is some maintenance that needs to be done on the superchargers at around 90k miles. I'm actually searching for more info on that now.
If its the same price as a regular one, then go for it. These are definitely alot harder to come by than the everyday 4runner.
