'90 model 4runner 3.0 ?
Hey Im new to the site as well as to messing with runners. My dad has a 90 model that i have been trying to help him figure out since i have more auto mech. back ground than he does but Im stumped on this one. Its a 90 with a 3.0 v6 automatic. when we got it it had a blown head gasket and a bad fuel pump. it starts and idles really well but when you rev it up quickly it sounds like it is either starving for fuel or getting way to much. if you rev it up slowly it does fine but it lacks power, big time. I dont really know where to start, i have already done the fuel system and complete tune up after replacing the head gaskets. Can anyone help shed some light on a solution. Thanks!!

Have you done the obvious things like flushing the fuel tank and replaced with new fuel? Have you confirmed that all of the fuel lines are clear? Did you use a new fuel pump not rebuilt or used? Have you pulled off the fuel line feeding from the pump to the engine and made sure that gas was flowing strong from there? You can do this while turning over the engine or maybe with just the key on (i'm not sure which). Isn't there a filter somewhere in that line? Just take it out for troubleshooting and see if that helps.
