2004 4Runner SR5 - stuck in 4wd
As the title states, my 2004 4Runner SR5 is stuck in 4wd. About 2 years ago, I couldn't get it to go into 4wd, and the dealer stated that I needed a new power actuator, at a cost of $2,500 (this problem seems all too common). I decided I could live without 4wd for a while.
Then last week, I started my car, and the lights were flashing, looking like it was trying to go into 4wd. So, I flipped the switch, and in it went. Green light is on.
Now, I'm afraid to take it out of 4wd for fear of not being able to get it back in. So, I need a definitive answer. I've search the forums and I'm not seeing one.
Will it hurt the vehicle to leave it in 4wd all the time?
Thanks in advance!
