Default 1991 4runner 3.0 6cyl. NO SPARK, HELP PLEASE

Hi
I bought the following car and the car did not run when I purchased it. It does turn over but has no spark.
1991 toyota 4runner, v6 3.0 engine, auto trans.
I have swapped the coil, igniter, distributor, and ecm into my other
Toyota and all the parts worked in it. I have tested the wires from the dist. , coil,
And the ignitor to the ecm for shorts, grounds, and continuity and they all test ok.

I have 12 volts to the coil when the ignition switch is on. I cannot see if the check engine light works because I cannot get it to go on. I have jumped the e1 and te1 and still no MIL.

My question is : can something else (sensors, relays, or component) cause the distributor
not to have spark??? I cannot get any codes or the light to even come on. Probably would
not read code as I have reset it by pulling the plugs out and swapping it. Any suggestions are much appreciated. Please help me out if you can.

Default i read your problem

did you try changing the ignition module sometimes when they go out or start to weaken the engine will turn strong but you just wont get fire. but also you might wanna check and make sure that the engine is timed right otherwise your number one cylinder wont have any spark if you dont know how to time it then e mail me at burtonashleyjohn@aol.com and i can assist you further.

I had the same problem and did this and it worked for me. So try this out before you do anything else.
