Default 05 4Runner Maintenance

Hi folks...

I recently bought a used 05 4Runner Sport V64x4 which currently had 57k miles on it. Its been a great vehicle so far but I was curious about whereI can find a maintenance schedule, aside from the dealer, which usually suggests unneccesary things. I was curious how often the tranny fluid/filter should be changed? Also, when do you change the spark plugs is these things?

Also, when shifting to and from 4 Hi, sometimes there is some banging noises from underneath... is this normal? Thanks

Hope I'm not too late. My '06 4runner does not even have a tranny dipstick. Maintenance schedule in owner's manual says to replace fluid at 100k miles. The dealer says the same thing. Kinda scary, but after 50,000 hiway miles( I bought it new), the tranny shifts the same as when new - flawlessly. If they have enough guts to eliminate the dipstick, I guess I have enough guts to believe them.

Hi TripleSeven, While I'm waiting for a responce (ANY) responce to my question, I'll tell you what I've read. On the V8 the spark plugs are 100 thousand mile, but the V6 has 30 thousand mile plugs in it, sorry about the double apostrophes, my stupid keyboard is messin up. Mike
