Looking For Feedback Please!
I'm seriously thinking of purchasing a 1999 4Runner Limited. I'm looking for any feedback positive or negative from as many people as possible.
Oneneg. I have heard is the fuel mileage.
How does it compare to a 2000-2006 Tahoe (Yukon)?
What kind of mileage should I expect?
Is the Limited all wheel drive and does this make it thirstier than an SR5?
I own a large Coleman hardtop.
Will it haul it easily or would it be under powered?
Will it carry four adults comfortably with camping gear while hauling the trailer?
Is their any reliability issues? Any nuisances? Would you recommend it, if not why?
I know there are alot of 4Runner owners out there. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!!

RE: Looking For Feedback Please!
I owned a 99 Runner ...loved this truck. V6, auto, 4WD, Limited Edition.
Owned for four years, no mechanical problems or cosmetic issues.
Many miles ... ran "like a top" on and off road. Changed battery and tiresaround 55,000 miles. Had regular maintenance done at my localToyota dealer.
Traded it for a 2003 Runner (in 2003) to solve two problems ..... V6 was a little underpowered for towing heavier loads, head room(even with the seat in the down position) was a problem. The 2003 with it's V8 and largercabin space solved both problems.
To answer your question ... might depend on the specific 99 you're looking at .... and yourrequirements. An older4-Runner, with proper maintenance, could be a very reliable truck!
