Default did I destroy it?

I just bought a 93 4Runner. It has a lot of miles, but I got a smokin' deal on it. I love the beautiful beast.

That being said I obviously don't know too much about it. I pretty much did the worst thing possible on my test drive. I put the truck in 4wd on dry pavement and took it in a tight circle in a parking lot (I know now that that was extremely dumb, so please not too much beef). There was binding, but the truck did make the turn all the way around fine. It seems to drive fine now and I haven't put it in 4x4 since.

How do I know if I did any damage? Also, how important is the 10 miles a month in 4wd? I live in California, most of the year it is dry and dirt roads are hard to come by. Is it worth being careful to drive completely straight for a mile or so every once in a while, or should I just forget about it?

no damage, just dont do it all the time. Of course it willl bind or you will feel a bind. I think its a really good idea to throw it in 4x4 every once and a while to keep it all lubed up and in working just my opinion.

ha ha well you proved that the 4wd works! but i also believe throwing it in 4wd for a couple miles everyonce in a great while if you don't use the 4x4 that much.
