Default Biggest tire size for stock 93 4Runner???

I just bought a 93 4Runner and the tires badly need to be replaced. I want to put bigger tires on but i don't know if they will fit without a lift. Right now it has 31/10.5/15 tires on right now. I was wondering if 33/12.5/15 were too big or if I could get away with them without a lift. Any help would be awesome!
thanks!

Jake

33s are too big for stock. They will rub in more ways then one, plus no clearance so no purpose. I had them on ALMOST stock, and still barely fit and still rubbed. We had to do some cutting to make them fit.

I've seen a lot of debate about this, some fiercely claim you can use 33s, some just as fiercely claim not. When I had my '94 4Runner stayed with 31s to prevent rubbing. My gut says that 33s might fit up front, but would need a taller coil spring setup (1-2" lift) in back, which is what I did on a 90 4Runner before it died. But general of thumb might 31s are ideal, but anything larger than 32, think about a mild lift.

I actually had 33s on my 92, awaiting my lift in the mail since I was changing tires and lift at the same time since tires were a must. 33s rub bigger then ****. 33x12.5s no way a daily thing. 33s x 10.5 maybe possible though with a good offset/backspacing.

Hi guys,

New to the forum.. I have the same problem i bought a '93 4runner with 33"s and a 2" body lift. they still scrap a bit. is there an easy way around this while still keeping the 33s or is a suspension lift the best way to go. if so what size lift will get me out of trouble???
