Water Pump - 2004 4Runner
I have a 2004 4Runner with about 90K miles on it. It runs great, no issues. No heating problems. No water leaks under the car. I check the radiator and it is not losing water.
Despite all of this, each time I bring the car in for an oil change, they tell me the water pump is leaking and needs to be replaced (aka $600!). So I take it home, run it, wait for the motor to warm up, crawl underneath it and around the cowling with a flashlight and see nothing. No leaks, no dampness.
Now, each time I bring it in they say to change the spark plugs. And this time I had just changed the spark plugs about 2 months ago.
Sooo....if I don't see anything awry, and the car is running fine, can I just go ahead and drive it and keep and eye on it? This place is constantly trying to get me to change differential fluid, and even mentioned a timing belt, which of course this vehicle has a timing CHAIN.
David Maus Toyota, by the way.
Any assistance would be most appreciated.
