Default 94 4-runner. Stalls repeatedly at operating temp.

94 4-runner, 260,000 mi., starts and runs fine when cold, but as soon as engine reaches operating temp it stalls. It will re-start easily, and run for 10 sec. to 2 min., then stall again. After re-starting ~25 to 50 times, it will run fine for the rest of the day, or until the engine cools-off.

The dealer really didn't care and cleaned the throttle body and replaced the PCV valve. They said it "ran fine" for them and "if it's not broken they can't fix it".

Another local mechanic who has worked on Toyotas for 30 years said pretty much the same thing after looking at it for several hours.

Does anyone have an idea about the cause? I might be 100 miles from the house and a mile off the road when it finally quits, not a good place to be.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
